Back to School - ECA package

Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, our first academic term of 2020/2021, is a little different to normal.  At this particular time, the KHDA has advised, that schools only offer online extra-curricular activities (ECA’s). 

From my teaching experience, I feel that there is often too much ‘screen time’ and opportunities for children to be creative and explore exciting STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) based projects, offer far more benefits to developing the all-important 21^st century learning skills!

So, I have come up with a special package to get children experimenting at home and taking part in fun competitions to develop their passion for learning.

So we have 3 different extra-curricular (ECA) packages available for children aged 3-5, 6-9 and 10-14 years.  We have developed these packages depending on how many hours you would like your child to so spend on their My Discovery Lab ECA in term one (which is 12 -14 weeks long) and how far you woud like to extend their scientific enquiry skills.  We have the following options:

 (1)  Discover Science Package – spend up to 1 hour per week 

 (2) Advanced Science Package – spend up to 2 hours per week

 (3)  Master Science Package – spend up to 3 hours per week

So what is it?

For every week you purchase you get one My Discovery Lab box delivered to your house.  It contains 5 experiments and projects with all the kit to do them all based around an exciting theme.   This is enough to keep children experimenting for hours.  They can easily do one activity a day to keep them busy. 

What else is special about buying this package?

Unique to this package, each box will contain a special competition.  Children can send their entries to us via email entries@mydiscoverylab.com to be in with the chance to win special awards and prizes.  Also, they can share pictures or video’s of their project work on social media @mydiscoverylab to enter our prize draw where they can win a play date with me doing explosive Science!

Also, throughout July and August there will be 30 minute zoom ‘drop in’ slots to ask questions, get support and share project work.  These will be scheduled every week as follows:

• Monday 9-9.30AM
• Tuesday 1-1.30PM

For every package purchased, we will deliver all your boxes safely to your door within 2-5 days.  We will also send your unique zoom log in detail to get you started.
